Who Can Be a SNaP Volunteer?

You can, if you live in Penn National, have a little time to donate, and enjoy helping people.

Why Be a SNaP Volunteer?
  • You can be a blessing, and get blessed, by helping a neighbor.
"It is more blessed to give than to receive."
  • You will meet interesting neighbors you otherwise might not meet.
  • It will take you away from the temptations of the TV and the refrigerator.
How Does It Work?

Use the online Volunteer Interest form either to let us know you are interested, or to go ahead and sign up as a SNaP Volunteer. Your name will be recorded in our Volunteers database, along with the times you prefer to serve and prefer not to serve, and the kinds of tasks you are willing to do.

When a need for volunteer help arises, the need (time and task) is matched against the available volunteers in the database. If your name comes up as the next-available good match, you will get a phone call asking if you can do the task. If there are special circumstances that require it, an email will be sent with all necessary details.

After that it's largely up to you. If you're the kind of person who likes a routine, you may settle into providing a regular service, such as a trip to the grocery store, for someone. On the other hand, if you like variety you may choose to be called on for a wide range of tasks as the needs arise. Either way you will be helping others!
