Recycling of these items is mandatory in Guilford township: aluminum, steel, and bi-metal cans; glass jars and bottles; plastic soda bottles and milk jugs (#1 & 2 plastics); and newsprint. These items are to be separated from the trash and set out for curbside collection by your trash pickup service provider. Many services will also recycle corrugated cardboard.
Besides that, there are many ways to keep lots of other things out of the land fill and into being at least partly reusable. For example, junk mail (of which we all have copious quantities) is easy to collect separately for pickup (if your trash service takes it) or for dropping off at a nearby location.
